Terms & Conditions

The Lawns · a product of Allium LLC (Texas)

Last updated: September 10, 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and Allium LLC for using The Lawns. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to them. We've kept them short and readable — please actually read them.

The short version:

  • Be real and be kind. Don't harass, impersonate, or spam people.
  • You own what you post. We only use it to run the app.
  • You need to be 18 or older.
  • The app is provided as is — we're a small team and we can't promise perfection.
  • You can delete your account whenever you like.

1. Who we are

The Lawns is operated by Allium LLC, a Texas limited liability company ("we", "us"). "The Lawns" or "the app" means our mobile application and related services.

2. Who can use The Lawns

You must be at least 18 years old to use The Lawns. By using the app you confirm you are 18 or over and that you're not barred from using it under applicable law. If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 18, we'll close it.

3. Your account

You sign in with your phone number. We text you a code, and that code is what proves the account is yours — so keeping access to your phone number is what keeps your account safe. You can optionally add an email address and password in settings, and if you do, we'll ask for those at sign-in as well.

  • You're responsible for the activity on your account, and for keeping your phone number — and your password, if you set one — out of other people's hands.
  • Give us accurate information when you sign up, and keep it current.
  • One person, one account. Don't share your account or use someone else's.
  • Tell us promptly at support@thelawns.app if you think someone else has accessed your account.

If you lose access to your phone number, we can't text you the code, and that's the main way in. Email support@thelawns.app and we'll help. If you set a password and forget it, you can reset it yourself in the app: we send a code to your account's email address, and that code lets you choose a new one.

4. Be real, be kind

The Lawns is for making plans with real friends. When you use it, you agree not to:

  • Harass, threaten, bully, or abuse anyone.
  • Impersonate another person, or misrepresent who you are.
  • Spam people, send bulk unsolicited invites, or use the app for advertising or promotions.
  • Post anything unlawful, hateful, sexually explicit involving minors, or that incites violence.
  • Upload other people's personal information without a good reason to have it.
  • Scrape the app, probe it for vulnerabilities, or try to access accounts or data that aren't yours.
  • Interfere with the app's operation, or use it to break the law.

Our Community Guidelines say the same thing at more length, and they form part of these terms — breaking them is breaking the terms.

There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behaviour on The Lawns. In the app you can report a message, a plan, an idea, or a person, and you can block someone from your own card at any time. We look at every report, and we can remove content and suspend or close an account — permanently, where it's warranted — whether or not anyone reported it. You can also email support@thelawns.app, and you should if someone is in danger.

5. Your content

You own what you create — your plans, ideas, groups, notes, messages, and avatar. We don't claim ownership of any of it.

To run the app, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, copy, and display your content solely for the purpose of operating The Lawns for you — for example, showing a plan to the friends you invited. This licence exists only so the app can function; we won't use your content to advertise, and we won't licence it to anyone else. It ends when you delete the content or your account, apart from copies that may briefly persist in backups.

You're responsible for what you post, and you confirm you have the right to post it.

6. Our content

The Lawns itself — the app, its name, look, artwork, and code — belongs to us. You may use the app as intended, but please don't copy, resell, reverse-engineer, or build a competing product out of it.

7. Contacts and phone numbers

Contacts access is optional. If you grant it, we use it only to help you find people you already know and to add people to your lawn. We don't sell contact data and we don't market to your contacts.

When you add someone who isn't on The Lawns yet, you're telling us to store the name and number you gave them so we can connect you if they join. Only add people you actually know, and only if you're comfortable doing that on their behalf.

Exactly how this works — including what leaves your device and what doesn't — is spelled out in our Privacy Policy.

8. Plans and invites

  • Plans, floated ideas, RSVPs, and shared groups are visible to the people you invite or share them with. Personal groups stay private to you.
  • As a host, you choose whether guests can see the full guest list.
  • Your lawn is yours alone. Adding someone doesn't put you on their lawn — they're notified, and can add you back or decline.
  • Anyone who has added you can invite you to their plans. You're never obliged to respond or attend.

Plans happen in the real world. We help you organize them, but we don't host, run, vet, or supervise anything that happens when you meet up. Use your judgement about who you meet and where — meeting people carries the same risks it always does, and those risks are yours to weigh.

9. Third-party services

Some features rely on services we don't control — Google Places for location search, Google Calendar or your device calendar if you connect one, weather data, and the App Store. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms, and we're not responsible for them. If one of them changes or goes away, a feature may change or stop working.

10. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect, why, and who can see it. It forms part of these terms — by using The Lawns, you agree to both.

11. Suspension and termination

You can stop using The Lawns and delete your account at any time from your profile in the app.

We may suspend or remove an account that breaks these terms, that puts other people at risk, or that we're required to act on by law. Where it's reasonable to do so, we'll tell you why and give you a chance to respond. If you think we've got it wrong, email support@thelawns.app.

We may also discontinue the app itself. If we ever do, we'll give reasonable notice so you can get your information out.

12. No warranty

The Lawns is provided "as is" and "as available". We do our best to keep it running, but we don't guarantee it will always be available, error-free, or that it will never lose data. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

13. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Allium LLC will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or anything that happens at a gathering organized through the app.

Some places don't allow these limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you. Nothing here limits liability that can't be limited by law.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes will be handled by the state or federal courts located in Texas, and you and we agree to that jurisdiction — unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring a claim somewhere else.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the app grows. If we make a meaningful change, we'll update the date at the top and let you know in the app. Continuing to use The Lawns after an update means you accept the revised terms. If you don't agree, you can delete your account.
